Gluten Free Spicy Turkey Chili

This tradition meal is filled with wholesome meat and vegetables the whole family will enjoy. Double the batch and freeze the leftovers for the perfect lazy day meal.

Serves: 6

Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
1 1/4 cups green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped (optional)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 small zucchini, sliced
3 Tbs chili powder
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
3 (14.5 oz) cans no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 (16 oz) can kidney beans, drained
1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained
1 (16 oz) can no-salt-added tomato sauce

Toppings
1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)

Directions
1. In large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add turkey; cook until brown, about 5 minutes. Add peppers, onion and zucchini, cook for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil.
3. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve with cheese, onion and sour cream if desired. Enjoy!
